What Don’t You Understand About “Love Your Enemies?” Jesus

“You, ministers, politicians, military leaders, businessmen who piously invoke my name when justifying your wars, your ‘crimes against humanity,’ what part of my command do you not understand when I said, ‘You have heard it was said, “You shall love your neighbor but hate you enemy (Moses and Judaism).” But I say to you:

“Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you, that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven…”

What don’t you understand? Or are you blind and hard of hearing again?” Jesus the Messiah, the Christ, the Savior of the world.

  1. Richard Dunkley says:

For too long, man kind has perverted Christs message to preserve their empires, and justify their feelings of entitlement.

Organized religion, through the fear based false doctrine of Hell, have supported the exclusivity of an “us against,,,,”them”,,,mentality.

This message you have posted here, is one the world needs to hear,,,,as we contemplate the question Chist asked in the parable of the Good Samaritan,,,”Who is your nehibour”?

Please, keep teaching that Christ came for ,,,,all,,,,

    Thank You.

  2. Branislav Benny Kovac says:

Love is something that is a continual debt.”Owe no man anything, but to love one another;for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law”(Romans 13:8).The spiritual intent of the Law,however, goes even beyond this. Here is what Jesus charged:
“Ye have heard that it hath been said,Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you,Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,do good to them that hate you,and pray for them which despitefully use you,and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven;for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye?do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others?do not even the publicans so?Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matt.5:43-48)
This command is very difficult,if not impossible, for most.It is more natural to hate (Gal.5:20),and to place our selfish interest first (2Tim.3:2).We are told “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others”(Phil.2:3-4).This is why Apostle John wrote:”If a man say,I love God,and hateth his brother,he is a liar;for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him,That he who loveth God love his brother also”(1John 4:20-21).Ïn this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another”(1John 3:10-11)
